Cedar Rapids Nativity Celebration
We are excited to announce that the Cedar Rapids Nativity Celebration will be held this year on December 2nd and 3rd at the Stake Center. We invite all families across the stake to volunteer and/or attend. We anticipate around 1000 visitors. This is a wonderful way to usher in the Christmas season!
Displaying your personal nativities
Set up takes place Wednesday, Nov 30th from 7-9pm and Thursday, Dec 1st from 10am-6pm. Takedown is on Saturday, December 3rd at 7:05pm. Our goal is to display around 700 nativities. Each nativity is cataloged and you are responsible to set up and take down your nativities. If you have specific requests related to your nativities, please contact Cary Jacobs at grmacary@hotmail.com.
Volunteering
We have almost 200 volunteer spots open. These include opportunities such as setup/decorating, ushering, and making cookies, to name a few. We invite all to sign up for a volunteer slot. Anyone 12 or older is welcome to volunteer (younger children may come with a parent.) Most volunteer slots are in two-hour increments. The Stake Communication Committee can log volunteer hours for high school students. To volunteer sign up here:

Tithing Declaration
It is the time of year for tithing declaration! The term “tithing settlement” has been changed to “tithing declaration.” This change emphasizes that the primary purpose of this interview is to provide members with an opportunity to declare their tithing faithfulness. Tithing declaration will be primarily a learning experience — especially for children and youth. Participating in tithing declaration is not required, but is an opportunity for those who would like to meet with me.
